Mother Matters
was founded in 2003 by Daniela Vasconcellos. Daniela is an
experienced Childbirth Educator, Birth Doula, Lactation
Educator, Breastfeeding Counsellor and a mother of five children. Together with Juanita Peters, birth doula,
childbirth educator and a mother of six children they support
women from pregnancy to parenting.

Vasconcellos
Daniela trained as a Childbirth Educator in England at
University of
Bedfordshire
in conjunction with their
National Childbirth Trust. In Canada
she continued her education by taking further training with
CAPPA
(Childbirth and Postpartum Association). She has also many courses
and training as a breastfeeding counsellor and educator and she
has been teaching prenatal classes for six
years.
As
a Doula, Daniela trained with DONA
(Doulas of North America).
She has a personal passion for supporting and empowering women
to get the most out of the birth experience by making informed
choices.
Juanita
Peters
Juanita trained as a childbirth educator with
CAPPA. She trained
as a birth doula with DONA. Her goal is to help women make informed
choices with researched-based information. To empower women, not
just to ask questions, but to know which questions to ask. She
is passionate about supporting women in birth, with breastfeeding
and into the parenting years.
