What is a last-minute doula?

A last minute doula is exactly of the name says, a last-minute doula. It's a doula that you have not hired ahead of time and have not done prenatal visits with, but someone that you can call last-minute if you feel you may need extra support during the birth or after the baby is born.  The doula would then come during your birth or after the baby is born.
